The book of Matthew chapter 7 verse 13 states:
Enter through the narrow gate: for wide is the
gate and spacious and broad is the away that leads way to
destruction, many are those who are entering through it. But
the gate is narrow contracted by pressure and the way is straitened
and compressed leads away to life, and few are those who find it.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
The first step is accepting Jesus into your heart, and allowing Him
to be your Lord and Savior of your life. Then it's renewing
your mind daily in the Word of God and spending time with Him and
getting to know Him is what will build build your foundationon the
Rock (Jesus). The book of Matthew chapter 7 verse 24 states:
So everyone who hears these words of mine and acts
upon them (obeying them) will be like a sensible (prudent,
practical, wise) who built his house upon the Rock. The rain
fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against the
house: Yet did not fall because it had been founded on the
Rock. Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do
them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon
sand. The rain fell and the floods came and the wind blew and
beat against the house and it fell and great and complete was the
fall of it.
Once you've accepted Jesus and you're putting the
Word into your heart, Satan will come and try to steal it from you
by various trials and he will challenge your faith. He comes
to steal, kill, and destroy, that's why spending time with God and
getting to know Him and His Word will keep you safe on a firm
foundation. You will not be decieved by the lies of the
enemyand you will have the Word of God which is the sword of the
spirit to destroy him with. The book of Ephesians chapter 6
verse 10 states:
In conclusion be strong in the Lord (be empowered
through your union with him); draw your strength from Him (that
strength which his boundless might provides).
